Title: Head Football Coach
Reports to: Director of Athletics
Schedule/travel: Full-time academic year position. Travel is required.
FLSA: Exempt
Classification: Staff or Faculty (depends on if combined with another teaching or administrative role)
Position Summary:
Kent School is seeking a dynamic and inspirational Head Football Coach who is deeply committed to the growth and well-being of our students. The ideal candidate brings a genuine love of the game a strong football acumen and successful coaching experience at the high school or collegiate level.
This is a chance to shape the next great chapter of Kent Football building on a proud tradition while creating new momentum for the program. With the full support of an engaged administration and school community the Head Coach will have the opportunity to design an exceptional student-athlete experience that emphasizes competitiveness joy character development and meaningful connection to the life of the School.
Specific duties and responsibilities include:
- Serving in either a teaching role or department role in keeping with the mission values and standards established by Kent School
- Coaching two seasons of interscholastic sports
- Performing regular duty in our residential program (if hired as faculty)
- Participating in Faculty committees (if hired as faculty)
- Serving as Advisor to 5-7 students (if hired as faculty)
- Maintaining Public Passenger Endorsement (PPE) to drive a school vehicle for school activities.

- Effective oral and written communicator.
- Committed to developing a team grounded in equity and inclusion.
- Committed to player development through the use of film analysis metrics analysis and clear communication.
- Invested in making positive contributions to the student experience both on and off the field including in dorms on teams and clubs and through advising.

- Successful completion of post-offer pre-employment criminal background checks and drug test.
- Maintain punctual and regular attendance.
- Work is performed on a smoke-free campus.
