About the role

As Support Worker (Relief) you will be working with incredible individuals to support with day to day independence enhance their various skills and support them with daily activities as well as providing emotional support.

The individuals we support have different personalities with different likes and hobbies. You could be joining the people we support in going on long walks in the countryside dancing to music watching films and going out and about in the community or to visit loved ones.

By being part of this team you would play an influential role in enabling the people we support to lead fulfilling and independent lives and see first-hand how you make a difference to them.

You will be expected to support with daily aspects of living including:

  • Medication administration
  • Cooking skills and other household skills
  • Some personal care needs
  • Accessing the community and supporting to local groups
  • Supporting with individuals hobbies and activities such as walking/hiking
  • Being a team player and having good communication skills
  • Completing relevant paperwork to a high standard
  • Supporting individuals to budget finances
  • Providing companionship to the people we support through talking about their interests and wellbeing
  • Having fun by encouraging the supported individuals to take part in activities that enhance their life skills and promote independence
  • Take the people we support out and about therefore a full manual driving licence is essential for this role
  • Encouraging and supporting with cleaning and administrative duties
  • Being able to bring fresh ideas to the team and implement different ways of working
  • Supporting Individuals with their individual needs

Skills and Experience Needed

A background of working with people with physical or mental health needs is desired but not necessary as full training and support from senior staff and management is provided.

Please ensure your application evidences experience of the following:

  • IT Literacy & numeracy skills
  • Experience working as part of a team and customer service skills

Pay and Pensions

  • 24531 (12.75 per hour)
  • Sleep-in rate: 62.64 per 8 hour shift - approx. 1 per week.
  • Waking night rate: 20% Enhancement from 11pm to 7am
  • Enhanced DBS which we will pay for
  • Social Care Wales registration is fully reimbursed
  • Pension Choices:
    • Defined Contribution (DC) Scheme with matched contributions up to 10%. Or
    • Defined Benefit (DB) 1/80th of final salary for every year of service.
  • 3 x Life Cover linked to pension membership

  • From 1st April 2026 the option to be either weekly or monthly paid.

Time off and Flexibility

  • 26 days holiday pro rata entitlement plus Bank holidays. Rising to 27 days after 1 years service or cash equivalent of 1 days annual leave.
  • Maternity & Adoption Leave: 20 weeks
  • Paternity Leave: 3 weeks
