Job Summary

Position: Assistant Varsity Volleyball Coach

Location: Austin Catholic High School

Type: Contract

Position Overview

Austin Catholic Volleyball Program is seeking a passionate and dedicated Assistant Varsity Coach to join our coaching staff. This individual will support the Head Coach in developing athletes skills fostering teamwork and building a competitive and positive volleyball program.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist in planning and leading team practices conditioning sessions and game strategies
Support the Head Coach in organizing team activities games and tournaments
Provide mentorship and guidance to student-athletes emphasizing skill development sportsmanship and academic responsibility
Help analyze team performance provide constructive feedback and adjust training plans accordingly
Promote a culture of discipline hard work and respect within the team
Assist with game-day operations including setup lineup coordination and in-game coaching
Help track and analyze team statistics to inform practice and game strategies
Assist with filming practices and games reviewing footage to identify areas for improvement

Qualifications:

Strong understanding of volleyball fundamentals strategies and techniques
Previous playing experience
Excellent communication and leadership skills
Ability to collaborate with the Head Coach and athletic department staff
Passion for working with high school athletes to develop their skills both on and off the court
Ability to attend practices games and team events during volleyball season

Requirements: all paid for by ACHS

Must complete or have completedProtecting Gods Childrentraining through the Archdiocese of Detroit.
Must submit to a new background check if not completed within the last 6 months.
Must have a valid CPR certificate or obtain one.
Follow all MHSAA & CHSL coaching requirements such as CAP courses offered by the MHSAA

Salary: Dependent on qualifications
