Key Responsibilities
GovCon Accounting & Compliance
- Own compliance with FAR/DFARS/CAS/DCAAacross accounting processes and systems.
- Lead indirect rates(development monitoring budgeting) and the annual Incurred Cost Submission (ICS).
- Maintain job cost accountingand ensure billing practices align with contract type (e.g. WAWF progress payments).
- Serve as primary contact for DCAA audits government inquiries and systems reviews (Accounting Billing Timekeeping).
- Ensure compliant timekeeping labor charging and payrollintegration.
- Oversee daily accounting operations (AP AR GL cash management payroll interface).
- Drive close cycles with emphasis on job cost accuracy cutoff and contract performance.
- Produce timely accurate GAAPand governmentcompliant statements schedules and disclosures.
- Maintain scalable internal controlsand audit readiness aligned to GovCon expectations.
- Build standardized dashboards/KPIsfor leadership (contract margins indirect rate trends cash forecasting).
- Act as organizational ownerof Costpointconfiguration and integrity.
- Push automation workflow enhancements and integrations to increase scalability and audit traceability.
- Strengthen segregation of dutiesand documentation within Costpoint.
- Lead cash flow forecasting liquidity planning and working capital strategies tailored to GovCon cycles.
- Support M&A due diligence and integration including postdeal accounting harmonization and cost structure alignment.
- Coordinate timely reporting and support for audit tax and regulatoryengagements.
- Mentor and develop a highperforming accounting team (multimanager doubledigit staff).
- Champion accountability continuous improvementand operational excellence; train business users on labor charging cost accounting and audit readiness.
- 15 yearsprogressive finance/accounting experience with 10 yearsleading in GovCon.
- Proven success owning the full accounting functionin highgrowth multicontract settings.
- CPA strongly preferred(exceptional nonCPA talent welcomed).
- Deep technical expertise in GAAP FAR DFARS CAS and federal contracting compliance.
- Advanced proficiency with Deltek Costpoint(modules reporting controls).
- Executivelevel partnership skills; decisive leader who drives process efficiency and scalable infrastructure.
- 5 yearsin managerial accounting roles.
- Experience navigating PEbackedscaling and/or postacquisitionintegration.
- Familiarity with WAWF/progress payments and ICS audits.
