About the role

This is a rare opportunity to join Merri-bek City Councils dynamic innovative and passionate Maternal and Child Health Team. Merri-bek City Council is an outwardly focused modern and progressive council.

We are seeking 5 new casual Maternal and Child Health Nurses to join our team.

Skills and experience require to perform the role

  • Be responsible for providing a high-quality family-centred MCH service that promotes and protects the health and wellbeing of families with children 0 - 5 years in the municipality.
  • The ability to provide evidence-based guidance and advice support and education on a wide variety of health parenting and family issues
  • Be a team player with a strong customer service focus.
  • Be able to work autonomously to provide an MCH service with support from the team and your MCH Coordinator.
  • Work in a team to solve problems and achieve outcomes in a constructive and collaborative manner.
  • Attend regular Team meetings and planned professional development.
  • Enjoy Merri-beks supportive mentoring program for all new staff.
  • Access to New Graduate support and mentoring if you are in your first 12 months of practice

To be successful in this role you will hold AHPRA registration in General Nursing and Midwifery as well as tertiary qualifications in Maternal & Child Health.

You will need to provide evidence of your right to work in Australia copies of your qualifications a current Drivers Licence & Employee Working with Children Check.

You must be willing to undertake Pre-Employment Health check as well as a National Police Record Check.
