Job Summary

We are seeking a talented and rigorous analytical chemist / natural products scientist with deep hands-on expertise in the isolation analysis and structural elucidation of complex small molecules. This role sits at the heart of Generares natural product discovery pipeline and will be instrumental in characterizing novel compounds produced by engineered microbial strains.

You will operate state-of-the-art analytical equipment (notably Orbitrap MS and NMR) and collaborate closely with scientists from chemistry bioassay and microbiology teams to solve structural questions and advance hits toward validation. You will work closely with Chloé our chemist and be in continuous interaction with the broader Chemistry & Bioassay team to coordinate compound characterization efforts.

Key responsibilities :

  • Perform extraction purification and analytical characterization of bioactive compounds from microbial cultures.

  • Operate maintain and optimize Orbitrap mass spectrometers including method development and troubleshooting.

  • Design and execute structure elucidation workflows combining MS NMR (1D/2D) and orthogonal techniques.

  • Integrate analytical data with biological readouts to support dereplication hit triaging and SAR generation.

  • Document results clearly contribute to IP filings internal reports and cross-functional discussions.
