This is a full-time position located in Augusta Maine and allows for up to 3 days of telework per week with management approval.

Core Responsibilities:

As a Staff Auditor II you will:

Perform independent and complex audits of MaineCare Providers and/or Community Agencies who receive state and federal funds through contracts with DHHS.

Complete financial and/or compliance audits for conformance to established laws rules regulations and standards.

Analyze budget and expenditure information and/or clinical and professional records in a forensic capacity requiring research skills sampling extrapolation and the development of findings.

Minimum Qualifications:

To qualify you must have:

Eight (8) years of practical progressively responsible accounting or auditing experience at the professional level; or

Hold a Bachelors Degree in Accounting Business Administration or a related field and two years of progressively responsible accounting and auditing experience or one year of directly related auditing experience in a government environment; or

Have certification as a CPA CIA or CISA OR a Masters Degree in Business Administration or related field; or

Meet the requirements to sit for the Certified Public Accountants Examination (at least 150 semester hours of education including a minimum 4-year baccalaureate or higher degree conferred by a college or university acceptable to the board and shall consist of at least 15 hours of accounting auditing and ethics (which must include at least three hours of auditing and three hours of accounting) and two years of progressively responsible accounting and auditing experience or one year of directly related auditing experience in a government environment.
