The Maintenance Lead is responsible to maintain and repair all industrial machinery. Troubleshoots repairs installs and dismantles industrial machinery throughout all the departments and locations of NASL. Performs maintenance service and repairs in the areas including but not limited to electrical carpentry painting plastering plumbing machine servicing fabrication and vehicle servicing. Is knowledgeable in the procedures and safety measures in area(s) of specialty. Responsible for developing implementing and training employees in preventative maintenance procedures and techniques. Assists with determining machinery needs and required specifications to efficiently produce product.
- Install maintain and repair electrical wiring equipment and fixtures. Ensure that work is in accordance with relevant codes.
- Communicates with or assists other workers to repair or move machines machine parts or equipment.
- Dismantles machine removes machine parts and reassembles machine using hand tools chain falls jack crane or hoist.
- Inspects or tests damaged machine parts and marks defective area or advises supervisor of need for repair.
- Installs replaces or changes machine parts and attachments according to production specifications.
- Inventories and with senior management approval requisitions machine parts equipment and other supplies to replenish and maintain stock. Contracts vendors for price and delivery of repair parts.
- Lubricates oils or applies adhesive or other material to machines machine parts or other equipment according to specified procedures.
- Measures mixes prepares and tests chemical solutions used to clean or repair machinery and equipment according to product specifications.
- Assists the Department Heads to determine machinery needs and obtain quotes and pricing information.
- Records and maintains repair and machine maintenance information.
- Starts machine and observes mechanical operation to determine efficiency and to detect defects malfunctions or other machine damage as scheduled.
- Transports machine parts tools equipment and other material between work areas and storage using crane hoist or dolly.
Facilities Maintenance
- Perform general building maintenance including but not limited to: basic repair and construction finishing and maintenance inside and outside company building as requested by departments and/or as maintenance needs appears.
- Clean and dust electrical panels and ensure that a minimum of a three feet perimeter around electrical panels is kept clear at the main location of service.
- Replace burnt out lights and light bulbs.
- Schedules and performs plant blow downs and dusting.
- Responsible for clearing and keeping safe the location pathways common outside areas and parking lots during weather related obstruction such as snow. This may include scheduling vendors.
- Inspect the outside of all buildings and report all damage to supervisor
- Report any material that has been removed from the plant to the yard that is not supposed to be in the yard.
- Conduct errands including but not limited to: picking up tooling materials removal of waste picking up skids from other plants.
- Researches vendors and pricing that need to be used for completing maintenance duties.
- May perform other duties as assigned.
Education Skills & Experience
High School Degree required Associates degree preferred
Ability to communicate clearly and professionally using written verbal and electronic communication across different levels of the company and external customers.
5 Years working in the maintenance field.
Basic knowledge of software applications (specifically MS Excel MS Access MS Word and MS Outlook).
Proven ability to successfully troubleshoot and repair electrical carpentry basic building plumbing machine servicing fabrication and vehicle servicing problems.
A strong understanding of mechanical concepts with a proven ability to solve mechanical problems.
Proven experience of successfully working with production machinery.
Work Environment
Work is performed in an office and manufacturing environment.
Industrial manufacturing floor with moderate to high noise and heat levels.
May require working in shifts overtime or weekends as production demands.
Wood and other material dust as well as chemical smells.
