Used Vehicle Acquisition Manager
Overview: As a Used Vehicle Acquisition Manager you will be responsible for overseeing the procurement of used vehicles for resale within our two Minnesota dealerships. You will lead buying efforts with the used car manager and corporate used car director coordinate with various departments and develop strategies to ensure the acquisition of high-quality used vehicles that meet our standards and customer demands.
Key Responsibilities:
Buying Used Vehicles: Supervise and manage Eides MN acquisition efforts ensuringtargets are met on a monthly basis and maintain high performance levels.
Acquisition Strategy: Develop and implement effective strategies for acquiring used vehicles including sourcing from auctions trade-ins private sellers lease returns and other channels. Analyze market trends and competitor activity to identify opportunities and adjust strategies accordingly.
Inventory Management: Maintain a balanced and diverse inventory of used vehicles that meets customer demand and sales objectives. Monitor inventory levels aging and turnover rates to optimize profitability and minimize depreciation.
Negotiation: Negotiate with sellers to secure favorable purchase terms including price condition and delivery logistics. Build and maintain strong relationships with sellers auction houses wholesalers and other industry contacts.
Vehicle Inspection and Appraisal: Oversee the inspection and appraisal process for incoming vehicles to assess their condition value and marketability. Ensure that all vehicles meet quality standards and compliance requirements before being accepted into inventory.
Documentation and Compliance: Ensure accurate and timely completion of all paperwork including vehicle titles purchase agreements and transfer documents. Maintain compliance with legal and regulatory requirements related to vehicle acquisition and sales.
Performance Analysis: Track and analyze acquisition metrics such as acquisition cost vehicle acquisition time inventory turnover and profitability. Identify areas for improvement and implement strategies to enhance performance and efficiency.
Collaboration: Work closely with sales marketing finance and operations teams to align acquisition efforts with overall business objectives. Coordinate with other departments to optimize the sales process and customer experience.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in automotive sales dealership operations or vehicle acquisition.
- Strong negotiation skills with the ability to persuade and influence others.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
- Knowledge of automotive industry trends market dynamics and pricing strategies.
- Proficiency in using CRM systems inventory management software and other relevant tools.
- Leadership experience with the ability to motivate and mentor a team.
- Attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
