Harborview Medical Center Environmental Services has an outstanding opportunity for a Hospital Custodian Supervisor 2.

WORK SCHEDULE

• 100% FTE (40 hours per week)

• Day Shift

POSITION HIGHLIGHTS

• Supervise a staff of 25 or more custodians and one Custodial Supervisor

• Train subordinates and performs administrative responsibilities such as recommending supply levels staffing levels staff training requirements and department policies and procedures

• Be a part of a team dedicated to supporting UW Medicine where Patients Are First

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Under general direction serve as a second-line supervisor in a custodial department

• With delegated authority interview and recommend selection of applicants conduct training assign and schedule work act upon leave requests conduct annual performance evaluations and recommend disciplinary action

• Determines staffing needs of assigned building; analyze workloads and assign work to employees

• Train new staff that have been hired into Housekeeping and Linen departments

• Will supervise the First Shift (Day Shift) staff in the Trauma Emergency Room making sure all areas are cleaned according to policy

• Inspect buildings to determine cleaning needs and job assignments. Monitor hand hygiene compliance retrain as needed and report findings to Operation Manager

• Prepare reports related to custodial services such as equipment inventories and custodial procedures

REQUIREMENTS

• Three years of experience in custodial or general maintenance work

• Two years of experience as a Custodian Supervisor 1

• An equivalent combination of education and experience may substitute for stated requirements
