About the Role

St Vincents Hospital Melbourne is seeking a casual Allied Health Assistant to support Occupational Therapy services across acute and rehabilitation settings.

This role provides flexible weekday shifts supporting service demand while accommodating your availability.

Working under the delegation and supervision of Occupational Therapists you will contribute to the delivery of safe high-quality patient-centred care supporting timely access to allied health services across the hospital.

Classifications for this position will be IN29 ($31.45 per hour plus 25% casual loading).

About You

To be successful in this role you will bring:

  • A qualification as an Allied Health Assistant (Certificate III or IV in Allied Health Assistance or equivalent)

  • Experience in an acute and/or rehabilitation setting (desirable)

  • Ability to assist with delegated therapy programs functional activities and basic assessments as directed

  • Experience supporting equipment set-up ADLs mobility and group-based activities

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team

  • Flexibility reliability and good time management in a fast-paced clinical environment

About Occupational Therapy at SVHM

The Occupational Therapy service delivers evidence-based person-centred care across acute subacute and community programs. The team works closely with Allied Health Nursing and Medical colleagues to optimise functional outcomes and support safe discharge and continuity of care.
