$3000 Sign-On Bonus for eligible full-time and part-time new employees joining UW MedicineHarborview Maintenance has an outstanding opportunity for a Maintenance Mechanic SCHEDULE100% FTE onsiteMonday Friday Day Shift7:00 am -3:55pmPRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIESPerform preventative maintenance and repairs on all types of mechanical equipment such as electrical drive motors laundry kitchen and air-conditioning equipment; change oil grease change or clean filters drive belts sprockets shafts and bearings to ensure proper operationPerform maintenance operation and repair of electrical mechanical and structural systems of buildings and utility distributionOperate hand and power tools in a skilled manner; fabricate material and equipment in workshopsRepair windows doors screens floors floor coverings and painted surfaces; install maintain and repair electrical connections switches circuits electrical equipment thermostats and valvesMay perform minor maintenance on automobiles and equipment such as oil change lubrication fix flats repair lights and fan beltDevelop preliminary cost estimates for installations and repairs. Drive service truck as required load and unload materials and suppliesMay lead or instruct helpers or other maintenance workers as required. May fire boilers on a relief basis;REQUIREMENTSCompletion of a recognized apprenticeship as a journey worker OR full-journey status in a union; OR four years applicable work experienceVocational training may be substituted for work experience on a year-for-year basis Possession of a valid motor vehicle operators license may be requiredABOUT HARBORVIEW MEDICAL CENTERAs the regions only Level I Trauma and verified burn center Harborview Medical Center is a comprehensive healthcare facility owned by King County and operated by UW Medicine.
