Job Summary

UI Engineer CAD & 3D Visualization

Location: Hybrid (3 days remote) Toronto Canada
Experience: 4 Years
Rate: $45 to $50 CAD PH

Role Summary: NearSource Technologies is looking for a UI Engineer to contribute to advanced CAD and research-driven platforms for a Fortune 500 product organization. This role focuses on building high-performance user interfaces for complex engineering workflows combining strong UI engineering with Human-Computer Interaction principles.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement an interactive decomposition canvas to visually break down complex mechanical assemblies
  • Develop core HCI components to enable fluid responsive interaction within CAD-based platforms
  • Build UI workflows for structured requirements input ensuring guided and efficient user experiences
  • Implement front-end components for user authentication and per-user project persistence
  • Develop UI components for editing and interacting with structured data in research platforms
  • Create visualization controls for simulation outputs and kinematic movement within 3D CAD environments
  • Collaborate closely with research scientists and engineers to translate complex concepts into intuitive user interfaces
  • Participate in iterative design cycles incorporating feedback and research insights to refine UI quality and usability

Must-Have Skills

  • Strong experience in UI development for scalable user-focused web applications
  • Proficiency in React and for modern front-end development
  • Expert-level skills in JavaScript and TypeScript
  • Solid understanding of UI and UX design principles with attention to detail
  • Experience building responsive and adaptive interfaces across devices
  • Ability to translate complex technical requirements into intuitive UI solutions
  • Bachelor of Computer Science or equivalent academic background

Nice-to-Have Skills

  • Experience with 3D web graphics libraries such as
  • Familiarity with CAD software or engineering design workflows
  • Exposure to data visualization or graph-based UI frameworks
  • Experience using AI-assisted development tools such as Cursor or Copilotkit
  • Working knowledge of Python especially for LLM agents using LangGraph
