Position Summary

This position will teach two credits of English101Plus or English 102Plus as well as expandingLWCwriting support into some early evenings and weekends serving students for whom those hours are more accessible.

Under the direct supervision of the Director of the Learning & Writing Center this position will serve as a writing tutor with responsibilities including one-on-one conferences in areas of expertise (composition reading skills & English language learning). Teaching responsibilities for lab sections of English 101Plus or English 102Plus will be coordinated by the Writing Program Director. These labs paired with first year writing courses offer students scaffolding and structured support in the form of additional guided practice. The lab sections will parallel the assignments and lesson plans in the writing courses while focusing on skills such as critical reading brainstorming pre-writing organizing and revising strategies.

Duties and Responsibilities

Tutor during regularly scheduled office hours. Maintain accurate records of tutoring sessions.

Teach two credits of English 101Plus or English 102Plus.
