POSITION SUMMARY:
The Assistant Nurse Manager PACU supports the Nurse Manager in the daily operational and clinical oversight of the Post Anesthesia Care Unit Prep/Recovery Unit and Preadmission Testing Unit. This role provides clinical leadership promotes professional nursing practice and assists with coordination of patient care activities to ensure safe efficient and high-quality perioperative services. The Assistant Nurse Manager contributes to staffing coordination workflow management and performance improvement initiatives while supporting compliance with regulatory standards Trinity Health policies and patient safety expectations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist the Nurse Manager with day-to-day clinical and operational leadership of the PACU Prep/Recovery and Preadmission Testing units to support safe and effective patient care.
Provide clinical oversight and serve as a professional role model supporting evidence-based nursing practice and adherence to perioperative and recovery standards.
Support staffing coordination patient flow and resource utilization to meet operational needs across all assigned areas.
Collaborate with physicians anesthesia providers nursing staff and interdisciplinary teams to ensure continuity of care and timely patient recovery.
Participate in quality improvement initiatives regulatory readiness activities and implementation of new programs or process changes.
Assist with staff development activities including coaching performance feedback and support of education and competency maintenance.
Licenses and Certifications Required
- Current or temporary RN license in ND or compact RN licensure.
- BLS required within orientation period.
Educational Requirements
- RN program as evidenced by licensure.
- Official diploma or transcript from the school/university from where Degree was received.
Experience Requirements
- 1-2 Years of clinical nursing is desirable. Supervisory experience is desired but not required.

Physical Requirements:
The Assistant Nurse Manager PACU frequently stands walks and moves throughout perioperative and recovery areas while performing clinical oversight and leadership activities. The role may require assisting with patient movement handling medical equipment and responding quickly to emergent clinical situations. Adequate vision hearing manual dexterity and the ability to communicate clearly are necessary to safely perform responsibilities in a fast-paced clinical environment.
Environmental Requirements:
This position works primarily in perioperative and recovery settings including PACU Prep/Recovery and Preadmission Testing areas. The environment may include exposure to infectious diseases blood and body fluids anesthesia-related equipment alarms cleaning agents and varying noise levels. The role requires adherence to infection prevention practices use of appropriate personal protective equipment and the ability to function effectively during high-acuity or rapidly changing clinical situations.Required Experience:
