Cost Accountant Projects

The CostAccountantwillbe part of a global projectteamwitha strong focus on ERP system implementations.Thisrole is critical in ensuringaccurateproduct costinginventoryandmaster dataacross the businesses that are migrating to core ERP systems. Thecostaccountantwillparticipate in a variety of taskswithin each projectsuch asdata conversiondata integrity checksinventoryaccuracyandtesting costing data flowscorrectly toendsystems. There will also be aportionof the role thatsupportstheongoingmaintenance of certain datafrom the projects implemented.

Key Responsibilities

Project Work

• Participatein ERPimplementations upgradesand systemenhancements specific to cost accounting and inventory.

• Within each project you will partner with otherfinance project teammembers to understandthe data from the source ERP and how that needs tobe convertedto the new ERP. Training will be provided on data fieldsandvalidations that need to beperformed with the focus on improving the accuracy ofSKUcosting andmasterdata as we get closer to the go live of the project.

• Participate in test cycles throughoutthe project life cycle as wecompleteboth unit testing and supportend to endtesting of costing and inventory data includingtesting in both ERPs and other systems such as data warehouses or Power BI.

• Partner with other team members onthe validation of the new value of inventory when it moves ERP and understanding through multiple conversioncyclesthe drivers for any large inventory revaluations and offering remediation whereappropriate.

• Participate in post go live support for projects with a focus onidentifyingany large variances and working to re-roll costs ifappropriateor providing correcting entries ahead of month end.

• Engage cross-functional stakeholders to drive alignment and support data-driven decision-making.

• Createmaintain and update documentation to reflect system and process changes as needed.

• Explore and then put into practice howAI and automationcanenhance cost accounting processes and data analysisin projects..

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in accounting Finance or related field

• 5 years of progressive cost accounting experienceideally in a manufacturing environment.

• StrongexpertiseinERP systems (SAP Oracle JD Edwards or similar)with hands-on experience in implementationsor major upgrades.

• In-depth knowledge of standard costing variance analysis and inventory accounting.

• Experienceparticipatingina global cost roll.
