PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• The Speech Language Pathologist will be responsible for evaluation planning directing and administering speech/language pathology evaluation and intervention to patients with communication and swallowing disorders as referred by a licensed provider.

• Administer treatments as determined by the evaluation in an effort to restore function and prevent disability following disease or injury.

• Assist patients to reach their maximum performance and level of functioning while learning to live within the limits of their capabilities.

• Assist to develop clinical programs for optimum patient care and service.

• Participate in operational aspects performance improvement and Quality.

• Improvement activities within the department. Provide input in formulating budget assist in evaluation of departmental performance and take action to remain in budget guidelines.

• Ensure that patient charges and documentation are accurate and entered on a timely basis.

• Participate in infection control equipment training compliance safety and educational programs both at the departmental and organizational level.

REQUIREMENTS

Licensed by the State of Washington as a Speech Language Pathologist

AND

Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communicative Disorders or equivalent degree approved by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association

AND

A Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech/Language and Hearing Association.

Equivalent education and/or experience may substitute for minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements such as a license certification and/or registration.
