Foster Lake & Pond Management Triangle
Position Overview: The Internship position is a part-time role designed to provide students with hands-on experience in the lake and pond management industry. Reporting to the Branch Manager this role encompasses a diverse range of duties including shop and equipment maintenance live fish distribution data entry and field operations. The Intern is expected to demonstrate initiative work effectively with minimal supervision and uphold the companys Core Values.
Shop & Equipment Maintenance
Facility Care: Capable and willing to clean and provide general maintenance in the shop office and showroom without supervision.
Equipment Upkeep: Maintain mechanical equipment and keep it clean as instructed; anticipate maintenance needs proactively.
Fish Handling & Stocking
Distribution: Bag live fish for customer pickup and assist in loading/unloading fish from transport tanks.
Quality Control: Ensure live fish are handled properly counted effectively and loaded/unloaded in good condition.
Administrative & Data Entry
Reporting: Provide accurate and legible data entry for electrofishing results contact information and marketing data.
Software: Utilize computer software to maintain time records schedules inventory and reports.
Field Operations
General Duties: Perform various field duties including digging lifting paddling and removing debris and trash.
Tool Operation: Work with hand tools pumps sprayers boats and electric motors.

Education & Experience
Target Audience: This position is designed for college students seeking an internship opportunity.
Minimum: High School diploma or GED.
Preferred Background: Education or experience in landscaping environmental science water resources fisheries science or stormwater BMP maintenance.
Desirable Skills: Knowledge of aquatic vegetation management freshwater fishery management turf establishment and boat operation.
Physical Demands
Strength: Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) and perform occasionally strenuous activities.
Environment: Willingness to work in the shop and outdoors often involving digging paddling and debris removal.
Core Attributes
Self-Starter: Ability to work well in teams be pleasant/optimistic and work effectively with little supervision.
Communication: Must be able to follow verbal and written instructions and document activity notes accurately.
Pay Rate: $16.00 per hour
Anticipated Hours: 12 to 20 hours per week (Time blocks of at least 4 hours per shift are preferred).
