Aerial Testing Company is a family-owned independent nondestructive testing and inspection company serving the firefighting industry. We specialize exclusively in ladder testing helping fire departments ensure their equipment is safe reliable and ready to perform when it matters most.


What Youll Do as an Aerial Ladder Inspector:

  • Inspect & test aerial fire apparatus and ground ladders to NFPA standards.
  • Perform visual inspections and basic nondestructive testing with training provided.
  • Set up use & calibrate testing equipment hands-on training provided.
  • Record results and complete inspection reports the same day.
  • Work independently in the field while following safety and quality standards.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with fire department customers and teammates.
  • Travel extensively throughout the East Coast often on the road five days at a time during the workweek. (Home 95% of weekends)
  • Enjoy working outdoors and stay active in a variety of weather conditions.

Our Ideal Aerial Ladder Inspector:

  • Experienced: A high school diploma or GED ability to use a tablet and a willingness to learn through on-the-job training. Prior experience in fire services aerial fire apparatus inspection or testing work (such as bridges equipment testing welding testing or manufacturing quality assurance) or nondestructive testing methods such as ultrasonic or magnetic particle testing is a plus but not required.
  • Detail-oriented: A strong eye for detail and can perform accurate visual inspections.
  • Independent: Comfortable working alone in the field with minimal supervision in a 2-person crew.
  • Customer-focused: Communicates clearly and professionally with fire department customers.
  • Active: Able to stand kneel bend climb ladders up to 125 feet lift up to 80 lbs. and work outdoors in all weather conditions.
