Description Justification

This requisition is for a Next Generation 9-1-1 (NG911) Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support the continued execution of Class 1 Class 2 and Class 3 NG911 upgrades including Call Handling system enhancements.

The selected candidate will provide deep technical and architectural expertise throughout the configuration testing and release phases of the NG911 emergency call system. This role is critical to ensuring the delivery of a secure stable and interoperable solution that meets the operational requirements of NYPD and FDNY and supports mission-critical public safety operations.

Scope of Services / Key Responsibilities

Design and deliver integrated secure enterprise solutions supporting NG911 systems.
Assess business requirements and lead the collection identification and approval of technical specifications.
Collaborate with engineering teams to develop high-quality defect-free solutions aligned with NYPD and FDNY requirements.
Work closely with Engineers Applied Engineers Architects and Project Managers to ensure:
- Delivery of required functionality
- Seamless interoperability across systems
Ensure a stable enterprise system-of-systems architecture by applying industry best practices in engineering and design.
Provide engineering support for:
- Writing optimizing and executing QA and Acceptance Test Plans (ATP)
- Controlled execution of releases into the managed production environment
Support and maintain mission-critical infrastructure operating in highly distributed environments.

Mandatory Skills & Experience

Candidates who do not meet the mandatory requirements will not be considered.

Minimum 15 years of experience in a specific technical or business application platform methodology or skill set.
Bachelors degree with at least 15 years of experience in:
- Enterprise Architecture
- Infrastructure Engineering
- Public Safety (PS) environments
Demonstrated expertise in designing future-proof enterprise-scale public safety solutions.
Proven experience building and supporting mission-critical infrastructure for highly distributed high-availability systems.
Strong experience with large-scale system integrations involving:
- Multiple technologies
- Virtual infrastructures
- End-user agencies and external contractors
Deep knowledge of enterprise integration techniques and the ability to design solutions that integrate seamlessly with existing infrastructure.
Recognized Subject Matter Expert in enterprise integration for complex applications within the Public Safety domain.
In-depth knowledge across multiple technology stacks platforms and architectural models.
Strong proficiency in:
- System design principles
- Software architecture
- Hardware components
Excellent written verbal presentation and facilitation skills.

Desirable Skills & Experience

Strong experience in requirements documentation including creation of clear and comprehensive technical and functional documents.
Proven ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
High level of learning agility with the ability to rapidly acquire new technical concepts and technologies.
