We are seeking a Database Administrator to join our team. This role will involve coordinating designing securing and maintaining enterprise-level database environments that store and manage critical business information. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in SQL Server administration high availability performance tuning and database security along with a passion for ensuring data reliability scalability and governance.

Location: Atlanta GA (Hybrid On-site Day 1 and on-demand thereafter; Local Candidates Only)

Duration: 1 Year (with possible annual extensions)

Job Description:

The Database Administrator is a senior-level role responsible for managing complex database environments that support high-volume mission-critical systems. This position serves as the highest advanced-level subject matter expert providing authoritative technical guidance to professional staff and supporting enterprise data strategies.

In this role the Database Administrator will oversee physical database administration activities including installation configuration upgrades security backup and recovery performance tuning and capacity planning. The position requires close collaboration with application and infrastructure teams to ensure system stability availability and optimal performance. The Database Administrator may also serve in a lead capacity contributing to system design reviews and database architecture decisions.

A successful Database Administrator demonstrates strong analytical skills deep technical expertise and the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. The Database Administrator plays a critical role in ensuring data integrity system resilience and long-term scalability.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage physical database administration including schema management security backups recovery and performance tuning

  • Support SQL Server databases across Production Test and Development environments

  • Install upgrade configure test and deploy SQL Server features including Always On High Availability

  • Develop implement and maintain database recovery plans and disaster recovery procedures

  • Analyze database performance and recommend tuning and application-level improvements

  • Implement authentication authorization and database security standards

  • Review system designs and develop new database solutions as required

  • Modify database structures and deploy schema changes based on evolving requirements

  • Script batch data loads and automate operational database jobs

  • Support database operations within collaborative platforms and enterprise environments

  • Apply working knowledge of backup appliances and cloud governance practices

  • Hands-on SQL Server RDBMS Administration: 6 years

  • Backup Recovery and High Availability Management: 6 years

  • Database Development & Performance Tuning (SQL Server): 6 years

  • Microsoft Operating Systems & SQL Server Clustered Environments: 6 years

  • SQL Querying T-SQL Programming and Scripting: 6 years

  • Always On High Availability Groups: 4 years

  • Database Migrations: 4 years

  • Database Space Management Storage Design & Capacity Planning: 3 years

  • Technical Communication (Written & Verbal): 4 years

  • Entity Relationship Diagrams Data Dictionaries & Architecture Documentation: 3 years

  • Cloud Technology & Governance Concepts: Working knowledge

  • Backup Appliances (e.g. Cohesity): Working knowledge
