The position involves providing speech therapy services inPleasanton CA.

Responsibilities:

• Communicate with patients to evaluate their levels of speech or language difficulty
  • Apply knowledge in speech therapy to detect speech problems by having a patient complete basic reading and vocalizing tasks or by giving standardized tests
  • Identify speech therapy options and create / carry out an individualized treatment plan
  • Teach speech patients how to make sounds and improve their voice
  • Teach alternative communication methods such as sign language to patients with little or no speech capability
  • Work with speech patients to improve their ability to read and write correctly
  • Work with speech patients to develop and strengthen the muscles used to swallow
  • Counsel speech patients with families on how to cope with communication disorders

Education and Requirements:

• Masters degree from an accredited Speech-Language Pathology Program
• Current or eligible for a California Speech Language Pathologist license
• Must be willing to work with both In- Clinic & In-Home clients
