Compensation:
Starting Hourly Rate: $16.90

Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate lead and uphold safety policies practices procedures and housekeeping standards at all times.
What Youll Do:
An entry level production worker at Nucor Rebar Fabrication will bend cut bundle and load reinforcing steel bars in accordance with customers orders. Youll work with a mentor who will train you on safely using all machinery
Responsibilities:
Unload trailers and store material in storage bins.
Operate a shearing machine or a power saw to cut reinforcing steel bars to specific lengths.
Operate a bending machine to bend reinforcing steel bars to specified shape.
Operate overhead crane to move assemble and select material to be fabricated or shipped.
Assemble and load orders onto trailers for shipping.
Operate a spray gun in the application of epoxy touch up or reinforcing steel bars.
Maintain the shop or designated area in a clean and safe manner.
Minimum Requirements:
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future
Must be age 18 or over
Due to the operating conditions of the position this is a safety sensitive position therefore you must pass a drug test including THC
Must be able to work overtime when required
Detailed Selection Criteria:
Controlling Machines and Processes - read and comprehend basic safety and operational instructions
Mathematics - Knowledge of basic math for accurate bar measurements.
Occupational Safety - Using knowledge of relevant equipment policies procedures strategies and judgment to determine whether events or processes comply with laws and regulations to promote standards as well as working to continuously improve processes to ensure safety of all individuals.
Accountability - Displays responsibility with work habits and has the ability to hold others accountable for desired results.
Dependability - Being reliable responsible and committed to fulfilling obligations.
Teamwork - Working as part of a coordinated effort with others to achieve a common goal.

Physical Demands:
Some heavy lifting may be necessary
Working conditions can be noisy/ dusty/ hot/ cold
