Position Summary:To ensure operational and curriculum requirements are met in compliance with all Ministry and organizational guidelines. To ensure the delivery of a developmentally appropriate play based program by applying specialized skills and knowledge related to early childhood education. Supports the organizations vision mission and guiding values. This is a fully in-centre position. Job Responsibilities: Applies current legislative expectations and professional knowledge to support a program that is consistent with Ministry of Education requirements and in accordance with Upper Canada Child Cares program to the Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice as outlined by the Ontario College of Early childhood Educators (for RECE position).Engages with the children and provides a positive learning experience. Provides a range of care including assisting with meals/snacks toileting diapering dressing in professional development opportunities staff meetings and training sessions as program charts daily logs reports and other administration tasks as guidance to assistant educators students and volunteers as the engagement of and ongoing communication with parents about the program and their children. Attends parent and community meetings as needed. Uses Storypark for pedagogical documentation as a guide for program development. Effectively collaborates and communicates with other team members school personnel and outside agencies to help support the needs of all children. Identifies children in need of additional support. Guides parents through the process of accessing resources. Helps design and implement individual support plans as & Requirements: Diploma or degree in Early Childhood Education (or approved equivalency) from a recognized college or university.A recent Police Vulnerable Sector least 18 years of age or older due to licensing assessment and up-to-date record of immunization as outlined by -to-date registration with the College of ECEs (if applicable).Up-to-date certification in CPR-C and Standard First Aid (training provided upon selection if required).Experience with inquiry/play based program design and implementation and with the use of pedagogical documentation. Uses initiative; applies sound reason in solving problems and resolves conflict in a calm professional manner. Proven ability to communicate (written and verbal) effectively and establish appropriate relationships with families coworkers and other professionals. Have the physical and emotional stamina to effectively supervise children in a variety of settings including outdoor public spaces. Ability to use computer systems and programs; including Dayforce and Storypark.
