The ideal Server Administrator will:Support our IT infrastructure operations. This role focuses on day-to-day administration maintenance and support of server Functions Responsibilities & Duties may include but are not limited to:The Server Administrator will be responsible for maintaining the reliability security and performance of server systems. Primary responsibilities include:Perform daily server administration tasks and routine maintenanceConfigure deploy and maintain Windows server environmentsMonitor server performance and respond to alertsImplement server patches and security updatesCreate and manage user accounts and access permissionsManage Active Directory services and Group Policy ObjectsConfigure and verify backup operations and test restoresTroubleshoot server hardware and software issuesCreate and update server documentationSupport server virtualization platforms (VMware Hyper-V)Assist with server deployments and migrationsSupport application installation and configuration on serversImplement security controls according to organizational policiesProvide technical support for escalated server-related issuesParticipate in on-call rotation for after-hours supportEducation and Experience:Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Technology or related field (or equivalent experience)3 years experience in server administration2 years experience with Windows Server operating systemsExperience with virtualization technologiesRequired Skills and Competencies:Solid knowledge of Windows Server operating systems ()Experience with Active Directory administrationUnderstanding of server virtualization concepts and technologiesKnowledge of backup and recovery processesBasic scripting capabilities (PowerShell Batch)Experience with server monitoring toolsUnderstanding of networking concepts (IP addressing DNS DHCP)Basic knowledge of storage concepts (local storage SAN NAS)Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skillsGood documentation abilitiesEffective communication skillsBase-level certification (CompTIA A Security or Network)Desired Skills and Competencies:Experience in government IT environmentsMicrosoft certification (MCSA or equivalent)Knowledge of Linux server administrationExperience with server clustering and high availabilityUnderstanding of security best practices for server environmentsFamiliarity with ITIL processes and practicesExperience with change management proceduresSecurity Requirements:This position requires a Criminal background Equal Employment Opportunity PolicyThe company is an equal opportunity employer.
