We are currently seeking a Full time Respiratory Care Practitionerto join our team at MetropolitanState Hospital located inNorwalk California.
Monday - Friday 8am-4:30pm
$38.50 Per hour Medical Dental and Vision
The Respiratory Care Practitioner (CA Staffing) works under the direction of the Supervising Registered Nurse to assist in the evaluation of pulmonary dysfunction and to provide treatment by means of respiratory therapy chest physical therapy and ventilatory assistance.
Essential Duties:
Applying working knowledge in respiratory therapy
Providing instruction training to both staff and individuals in administering respiratory care by periodic review and in-service
Recognizing symptoms requiring respiratory attention
Analyzing situations quickly and accurately
Applying sound judgment to take effective action
Collaborating with members of an interdisciplinary team in the identification of discharge barriers
Developing and implementing interventions in regard to respiratory care
Participating in quality improvement activities
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED equivalent required
Certification to practice Respiratory Care issued by the Division of Allied Health profession of the board of Medical Quality Assurance of the State of California required
Knowledge of procedures for evaluating pulmonary dysfunction and for providing ventilatory assistance safely and effectively
Knowledge of respiratory disorders and appropriate therapeutic methods and practice
Ability to use and care for respiratory equipment
Ability to pass drug screen and criminal background check
