JOB SUMMARY | Work studies are the connection between the Division of Volunteer Efforts (DOVE) and the student population at Seton Hall. He/She is responsible for coordinating weekly programs through DOVE as well as completing in-office work that will foster our programs and our relationship with outside agencies and our Catholic mission. |
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES | - Take on the role as program coordinator for at least two weekly programs. The student must serve as a leader supervising student groups of 5-20 volunteers alongside DOVEs community partners
- Lead reflection after service programs
- Be present for mandatory workdays and scheduled office hours in addition to the scheduled weekly programs
- Represent DOVE at a variety of community service sites & attend open houses/promotional events on behalf of the DOVE office
- Be a welcoming presence to all office visitors answer office phones take messages send emails to volunteers
- Keep office clean and organized move & sort donations as needed
- Post publicity for upcoming events and be attentive regarding all DOVE PR (the Setonian flyers broadcast emails etc.)
- Recruit students for volunteer programs
- Be involved in the planning of some of DOVEs larger scale events

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS | This position is only available to undergraduate students at Seton Hall University who are federal work study eligible. A professional attitude good written and oral communication skills attention to detail ability to stay self-motivated and leadership skills to supervise peers are required. Competency in Microsoft Office Apps: Word Excel PowerPoint Teams etc. Ability to commit to a consistent weekly schedule. Experience with community outreach and volunteerism. |
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS | Ability to drive volunteers in 12-passenger van as needed Ability to translate Spanish in order to help plan for international mission trips. |
