Position Summary:
- Performs plan of care intervention including medication administration specimen collection clinical treatments as well as other medical care treatment.
Documents patient care given. - Monitors records and communicates patient condition as appropriate to care team physician patient and family.
- Detects change in patient status reports to appropriate health care team member and utilizes resources as dictated by the acuity. Assigns priorities to the patients problems with highest priority given to problems that are most urgent and critical.
- Assists patients with performing activities of daily living including personal hygiene elimination nutrition and ambulation.
- Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care including patient transfer discharge referral and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.
- Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides patient/family education appropriate to age culture condition and circumstances.
Insures completion of requests for diagnostic work and support services. - Counts narcotics according to policy and procedure.
Works as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.
Minimum Qualifications:
Applicants should have a current AZ state RN license or Compact State License and possess a associates degree from an accredited nursing school. Additional requirements include:
- Basic Life Support Certification is required within 30 days of hire.
- ACLS required upon hire BLS is not required if employee has current ACLS
- PALS required within 1 year of hire.
- Handle with Care within 30 days of orientation required annually.
- TNCC within 6 months of hire.
- Must pass a rhythm recognition test within 90 days of hire.
- 1 year ICU experience preferred
