In this position you will work closely with Technical Directors Project Managers and Design Engineers to prepare technical documents such as design basis documents calculations drawings specifications engineering reports and will interface with specialists in other disciplines such as geotechnical coastal drafting engineer-divers and to a lesser extent mechanical and electrical engineers.

Your key responsibilities will be:

  • Prepare studies calculations designs drawings sketches and plans for a variety of structural engineering projects
  • Conduct field inspections of existing structures to determine the necessity for future construction repair or maintenance
  • Conduct field inspections of construction and repair projects in progress to ensure conformance with plans specifications and codes
  • Gather prepare and maintain engineering data records and reports
  • Prepare reports contract specifications lists of materials cost estimates and schedules
  • Meet and consult with professional engineering personnel.

On top of that you will have:

  • Possess or be pursuing a baccalaureate or masters degree from a civil/ structural engineering program
  • Be able to maintain an effective working relationship with a variety of people
  • Have an understanding of applying structural design codes
  • Preferably have a valid Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certificate issued by the National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying (NCEES).
