Job Description
The Registry and Academic Support (RAS) of the campus provides core administrative services at the University like student enrolments registrations payments records exams and graduation by working closely with academic schools and other professional services also offers direct student support such as wellbeing careers service international student support and resources to enhance learning and holistic success.
Academic Quality and Regulatory Compliance is another core function of RAS ensuring adherence to the local laws and regulations primarily governed by the Malaysian Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE) and the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA) covering approvals and accreditations and internal policies ensuring quality ethical standards and student welfare especially for international students. RAS has 3 main divisions namely Academic Quality Academic Operations and Student Life.
The Manager/Senior Manager Academic Quality and Regulatory Compliance is to provide expert and specialist professional advice to internal and external stakeholders and managerial support to the Universitys compliance monitoring and academic quality cycle through the design implementation and evaluation of appropriate processes policies and regulations. An excellent understanding of the Malaysian MOHE and MQA frameworks rules and regulations as well as the University policies and procedures is essential for this role. This position will be responsible for ensuring the campus acts in compliance with all requirements by the relevant regulatory and professional agencies.
The post holder will manage a portfolio of policies and procedures relating to regulatory compliance academic quality and enhancement. This may include the following:
The Manager/Senior Manager Academic Quality and Regulatory Compliance is expected to work in collaboration with the global Academic Quality teams to ensure compliance and consistency in practice across all HWU campuses and most importantly in ensuring compliance with the Malaysian MOHE and MQA frameworks policies and procedures.
