Job opportunityThe Corporation of the Town of Orangeville invites applications for the position ofAssistant Summer Camp Co-ordinatorCommunity Services department(contract dates: May 25 2026 to August 28 2026)Position descriptionThe Town is seeking two Assistant Summer Camp Co-ordinators to assist the Summer Camp Co-ordinator in planning the Towns 2026 summer camps. Duties of this position include overseeing camp programs off-site excursions and camp activities as required; assisting staff with the integration of children with special needs; assisting with the planning and implementation of camp training sessions; providing direction and feedback to Counsellors; responding to parent and staff concerns; preparing required supply orders; completing attendance lists staff schedules incident reports supply tracking and correspondence; providing feedback for Counsellor evaluations; and other duties as -time enrollment in a post-secondary program such as Recreation and Leisure Education Child and Youth Development or Early Childhood EducationPrevious experience working with children including a minimum of two (2) years of work experience in a camp or recreation FIVE Principles of Healthy Child First Aid/CPR certificateExperience using Microsoft with XPlor Recreation (formerly PerfectMind) recreation program software would be an Drivers License in good standingThe successful candidates will be expected to work some weekends depending on program and training needs. Mandatory camp training days are scheduled in June and successful candidates must be available to work on Canada Day. Hours of work will be thirty-five (35) hours per week prior to the start of camp and then ranging from forty (40) to forty-four (44) hours per week during camps depending on business Rate: $25.27 to $27.33 (2026 rate)Please note:Virtual interview formats are available for this Town student positions are subject to budget approval and thus may be subject to candidates will be required to complete a background check including either a vulnerable sector check or a criminal record and judicial matters check as permitted under Ontarios Police Record Checks Reform Act and in accordance with the duties of the candidates are invited to apply no later than 12 p.m. on January 30 2026.
