We are a brand that prides itself on building deep partnerships with its customers and : Planning overseeing and staging loads and unloads for Forklift Operators to load trucksUsing computer software and mobile devices to maintain internal record-keeping system and good communication with co-workers and customersEnsuring that there is a constant awareness of reduction of waste with the most efficient use of time and elimination of non-value added activities and potential lossDetermining method of shipping and arranging shippingInspecting work area at beginning of the shiftInspecting and verifying incoming goods against invoices recording shortages and rejecting damages goods;Packing goods to be shipped and affixing identifying information and shipping instructionsReporting any hazards safety concerns breach of safety practices and/or any known contravention of the OHSA or regulations and completing reportEnsuring all tasks are completed in a safe manner in compliance with regulatory legislative guidelines and company health and safety polices and proceduresOnly operating the equipment after being certified through Operator Ready training in a safe and responsible mannerReporting any safety concerns/property damage that occurs to the supervisor immediatelyPanning loads for shippingScanning load tagsPicking and sorting loadsPlanning loads for stagingDelegating tasks to Forklift DriversIdentifying new materials and inventoryAdding Contracts and uploading documents to RecyDocumenting materials and inventory via photos/videosMaintaining up-to-date knowledge of shipping standardsKnowing customer specifications and inspecting material for complianceMay operate forklift handtruck or other equipment to load unload transport and store goodsAdditional tasks as requestedRequirements:Secondary school is required1 years experience in shipping is requiredExperience operating a Forklift with rotator/clamp is an assetExperience in Metal Recycling is requiredForklift Licence is requiredDrivers license is requiredProficient use of computers and mobile devicesGood understanding of metal gradesMust have 360-degree awareness of workspaceKnowledge of WHMIS Spill Response Environmental & Quality Policy and Emergency Response procedures (Fire Drillsetc.)Excellent English communication skills (both verbal and written)Ability to follow instructionsHas a desire to learn and is self motivatedAbility to work well with co-workersAble to work indoors and outdoors with abrasive noise from machinesAt CMI we are committed to fostering an inclusive equitable workplace free of bias and discrimination where everyone feels valued respected and supported.
