Position Title: Director of Individual Giving

Our programs are person-centric and individualized to meet the needs and goals of individuals families youth/young adults and veterans experiencing homelessness. Summary: Reporting directly to the Vice President of External Affairs the Director of Individual Giving has responsibility for managing long-term relationships and potential individual prospects determined to have the ability to make gifts at the 4- 5- and 6-figure level. The position will be responsible for identifying qualifying cultivating soliciting and stewarding major gifts.
In addition the Director of Individual Giving will partner with the fundraising consultant and the event consultant and other External Affairs staff in identifying current donor needs and identifying and cultivating the next generation of donors and also donors in neighborhoods outside of the Friendship Place core community of Upper Northwest DC.
The Director of Individual Giving will work collaboratively with and will give fundraising support to the Board staff volunteers and donors.

Work is primarily performed in a remote/hybrid environment. Frequent local travel to donor meetings events community engagements and site visits. Occasional evening or weekend work is required to support donor events or organizational functions. May work in various environments during donor visits (offices homes event venues community settings).
Ability to sit for extended periods while working at a computer attending meetings or performing administrative tasks. Ability to stand walk and move throughout facilities or event spaces. Must be able to independently travel to donor meetings and events; valid drivers license or reliable transportation required.
Occasional need to lift or carry materials such as donor packets event supplies or presentation equipment (typically up to 20 pounds).
Direct reports: Volunteers and interns as needed.
Specific Requirements: Positions requiring travel must have reliable access to personal transportation to fulfill job duties. The vehicle must meet all legal requirements including valid registration and current auto insurance. Employees must provide the employer with current copies of their valid drivers license and proof of insurance. They must maintain an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) that meets organizational or insurance carrier standards as a condition of employment. Additionally employees are required to notify the employer and provide updated documentation within a legally appropriate timeframe if there are any changes to their drivers license status or insurance coverage.

Compensation: The hiring pay range is between $125000.00 and $137000.00. The starting annual salary is based on a step system. A candidates starting pay determination is made based on meeting the basic position requirements and current completed education credentials and work experience.
