Your role:

The Lead UI Designer will be responsible for overseeing leading and creating newcomponents and patterns that are scalable user-accessible and meet the needs of ourcustomers. You will work with other UI and UX Designers to propose and get alignmenton standards to be shared across teams and work in close collaboration with engineersto build and deliver high-quality user interfaces. The Lead UI Designer will manageother UI Designers provide guidance throughout the design process and grow theteam.

Your responsibilities:

Lead in collaboration with UX to d execute design for AI-driven features from discoverythrough delivery.
Work directly in the detailsuser flows prototypes interaction models and final design specifications.
Create clear implementation-ready documentation for engineering teams.
Collaborate tightly with cross-functional teams building alignment across product engineering and compliance.
Provide mentorship through craft offering feedback in design reviews and contributing to design standards.

About you:

10 years of experience in UI and visual design for web desktop and mobile applications.
2 years of experience leading designers or design initiatives guiding projects and managing stakeholder expectations.
Proven track record delivering large-scale world-class digital products andmature design systems across responsive web and native platforms.
Deep expertise in design systems including component libraries design tokens scalable UI frameworks and system governance.
Highly skilled in prototyping to communicate ideas validate assumptions and iterate quickly throughout the design process.
Strong understanding of accessibility standards and inclusive design principles.
Extensive experience working with engineering teams to ensure high-quality implementation from concept through release.
You view design as a process of discovery using experimentation early concepts and iterative validation to define problems and refine solutions.
Expert-level proficiency in Figma with strong visual design craft and a commitment to staying current with industry trends and emerging tools.
Comfortable designing responsive interfaces across desktop iOS and Android platforms.
Hands-on experience applying and contributing to design systems to create scalable high-quality user interfaces.
Ability to clearly articulate design decisions backed by evidence-based rationale and strong storytelling.
Champion for design within the organizationable to communicate its value to senior leaders influence strategic direction and elevate design culture.
Familiarity with traditional design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite is an asset.
Experience with micro-animations and motion design is a plus.
Experience working in enterprise

Nice to have:

Experience in an Enterprise business environment and Agile is definitely an asset
Experience working in regulated or compliance-heavy industries.
Background in financial services.
Published case studies that show depth in research and problem-solving.
Experience contributing to design strategy or shaping product direction.

Compensation:

Global Relay advertises the pay range for this role in compliance with British Columbias pay transparency laws. Individual pay rates are determined by evaluating factors such as expertise skills education and professional background.

The range below reflects the expected annual base salary which is only one element of our comprehensive total rewards package designed to reflect our company pay philosophy culture and values.
