They provide direct patient care and have prescriptive authority. They are credentialed privileged and billed as an independent provider by Medicare and Medicaid. The Advanced Practice Provider offers medical care based on the supervising physicians scope of providers typically provide care to patients in an internal medicine family medicine geriatric or pediatric Functions of the RoleAssess the physical and mental condition of patients by performing comprehensive or problem-focused physical exams and obtaining medical collects interprets and evaluates laboratory and other diagnostic tests to assess patient problems and health care recommends or uses medical drug therapies or other treatments. Performs procedures following approved protocols focusing on efficacy safety and interventions to modify behavior associated with health and carries out detailed patient treatment plans based on assessments evidence-based medicine and care standards.
