About the Role
The Governors Office is seeking a Policy Advisor specializing in Education and Tax Policy to join our Policy Team. This role is critical to advancing the Governors priorities in K-12 and higher education workforce development and state tax policy. As a trusted advisor you will help shape and implement policy initiatives that impact Montanas schools families and economy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze and develop policy proposals related to K-12 and higher education workforce development and state tax policy.
  • Prepare briefing materials and advise the Governor Lt. Governor and senior staff on education workforce and tax issues.
  • Build relationships with constituents school districts educators legislators and business leaders to advance the Governors agenda.
  • Draft and monitor legislation; testify before legislative committees on priority bills.
  • Coordinate with state agencies including the Department of Revenue Department of Labor and Industry and Office of Public Instruction to implement policy changes.
  • Represent the Governor at education labor and tax policy forums conferences and stakeholder meetings.
