Responsibilities
Qualifications
Responsible for managing the incoming and outgoing silks for racing participants.
Responsibilities
- Cataloging and distributing the appropriate silks to jockeys prior to a race.
- Cataloging and receiving the appropriate silks after a race.
- Demonstrate very good general understanding of racing owners trainers and jockeys.
- Follow regulatory procedures.
Qualifications
- Must be able to obtain and maintain an Indiana Horse Racing Commission license.
- Ability to work under pressure
- Verbal and Written Comprehension
- Ability to manage multiple complicated priorities/tasks
- Regularly required to sit stand climb walk bend and lift objects up to 50 lbs.
- Familiar with racing terminology and customs
- An ability to work well with others including but not limited to the Clerk of Scales and Stewards
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
- High School Diploma or GED - preferred
- Current valid drivers license - preferred
- Willing to complete overtime as needed - preferred
Frequent standing walking stooping bending reaching climbing steps and sitting.
The work environment is located in the Jockeys buildingin a highly populated fast-paced and noisy environment.
