Our Client is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Storeman to support effective stores and inventory operations within a remote lodge environment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day management of stock receiving issuing storage and documentation ensuring accurate stock control compliance with internal procedures and safeguarding of company assets while supporting smooth lodge operations.
Responsibilities:
Assist in the daily management of store operations including receiving storing and issuing stock in line with company procedures.
Maintain accurate stock records monitor stock levels and apply the FEFO method to ensure proper stock rotation.
Conduct daily mid-month and month-end stock counts and report any variances with supporting documentation.
Take full responsibility for store operations during the absence of the Head Storeman.
Coordinate with procurement offices and approved suppliers regarding deliveries shortages or incorrect items.
Prepare and process routine and emergency stock orders within approved guidelines.
Maintain accurate documentation for all stock movements including bin cards goods received and stock issues.
Ensure storerooms are secure clean and accessible only to authorized personnel.
Adhere to internal control procedures and promptly report any stock losses or control weaknesses.
Support and guide junior store staff and lodge departments on correct requisition and stock handling procedures.
Requirements
- Diploma or Bachelors Degree in Procurement Logistics Stores Management Accounting or a related field.
- Minimum of 23 years experience in a store warehouse or inventory control role.
- Practical experience in receiving issuing stock control and stock counts.
- Experience handling food beverages and consumable stock items.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.
- Flexible and able to work under pressure in a remote lodge environment.
- Working knowledge of inventory management systems; experience with PanStrat or similar systems is an added advantage.
