The NC Department of Adult Correction is one of the largest state agencies with more than 14000 employees. It is responsible for safeguarding and preserving lives and property through prevention protection and preparation as well as the care custody and supervision of all adults sentenced for violating North Carolina laws. This department includes state prisons with custody healthcare and facility operations staff as well as probation/parole officers who supervised sentenced people in the community. Other divisions include Administration Health Services Rehabilitation & Reentry Special Operations and the Post-Release Supervision & Parole Commission. We have a mission that matters!
Description of Work
Position is responsible for ensuring policies and procedures are administered for offender transfer and/or release. The position will coordinate daily offender transfer. The position will review monitor and oversee incentive wage for inmates This position will serve as backup to the Processing Assistant IV (Records Clerk) Maintain offender jackets prepare offenders for transition to release complete daily call sheets court dispositions and writs. Effectively communicate with offender staff management and general public.Knowledge Skills and Abilities/Management Preferences
Considerable knowledge of services policies and procedures related to a program or area of specialization. Ability to demonstrate and apply this knowledge in performance of administrative tasks; ability to explain and interpret information to clients/customers and staff. Considerable knowledge of program policies procedures and information systems in order to communicate and process information. Ability to compile assimilate and organize both printed and electronic information; ability to apply knowledge of data collection storage organization manipulation and/or analysis of data. Ability to utilize office equipment and other relevant technology (software and systems) to meet organizational needs. Ability to identify and understand issues problems and opportunities; use effective approaches for choosing a course of action or developing appropriate solutions. Ability to clearly convey information and ideas through a variety of media to individuals or groups. Ability to present ideas clearly and effectively in written form; ability to adjust language or terminology to meet the needs of the audience; ability to use correct grammar organization and structure.Minimum Education and Experience
