Join GE Vernovas Grid Solutions team as part of our Project Management group focusing primarily on outbound logistics coordination while also supporting broader project activities. Youll manage onsite preparation and loading of large power transformers acting as the key link between manufacturing engineering EHS and subcontractors to ensure safe compliant ontime dispatch. About 60% of your time will involve coordinating hauliers and factory dispatch; the remaining 40% will support other project managers and assist with operational tasks and project closeouts. This is a new role created to support our increased factory output. Were looking for someone with foundational projectmanagement experience and a strong growth mindsetnot a senior PMto develop within the team.Job Description
As the Project Manager for Outbound Logistics you will be the onsite point of contact for haulers and internal teams coordinating RAMS approval permits to work inductions and the crane/load plan through to factory gate handover. You will ensure consistency safety and timing in the departure of our HVDC transformers from the factory.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead factory dispatch: coordinate haulier activities RAMS review/approval permits inductions crane and loading plan; ensure EHS and engineering signoffs prior to dispatch.
- Own the onsite schedule: align manufacturing readiness with contractor arrival (Tue/Wed) and loading/dispatch windows (ThuSat).
- Interface management: act as the primary contact between manufacturing engineering EHS regional logistics and the haulier; ensure documentation and communications are timely and complete.
- Operational PM support (40%): assist project managers on portfolio tasks (trackers tools reporting) and take ownership of selected project closeouts.
- Process compliance: uphold company procedures during loading and handover; maintain accurate records and status reports.
Essential Qualifications:
- Experience in project coordination/management or logistics dispatch within a manufacturing/industrial environment (heavy lift/oversize experience beneficial).
- Proven onsite coordination skills: RAMS permits to work safety inductions and multiparty interface management.
- Strong communication organization and stakeholder management; confident working to tight dispatch windows.
- Proficiency with MS Office for trackers/reports; comfortable enforcing process compliance across a portfolio.
- Ability to work onsite in Stafford; role is nonhybrid and focused on factory operations.
NicetoHave:
- Experience coordinating hauliers or outbound logistics for large/complex equipment.
- Exposure to project closeout activities and PM tools (e.g. trackers schedules ECN workflows).
- Familiarity with industrial lifting/crane operations and dispatch documentation requirements.
