The Formulation Development Co-Op is responsible for supporting the preclinical team in developing and improving methods and procedures for nanoparticle formulation design optimization analysis and documentation.
This position is part of the Biopharma Services team located in Vancouver BC and will be an on-site co-op term from May 4 2026 - Dec 31 2026. At Cytiva our vision is to advance future therapeutics from discovery to delivery.
What youll do:
Work with research staff to develop and optimize nanoparticle formulations (liposomes lipid nanoparticles polymeric nanoparticles) for drug and nucleic acid delivery using the NanoAssemblr platform.
Prepare reagents buffers and equipment for use in the experiments.
Perform analysis to determine the physico-chemical properties of nanoparticle formulations such as DLS measurement RiboGreen assay and other routine lab assays.
Prepare Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) reports and technical presentations.
Assist in general lab management such as ordering organization and cleanliness of lab.
Who you are:
A current university student in the Life Sciences Pharmaceutical Sciences Biotechnology Chemical or Biomedical Engineering or relevant disciplines with hands-on experience in the lab.
General knowledge of formulation analytical or bioassay techniques including pipetting weighing pH adjustments and formulation relevant calculations.
Experience with standard formulation techniques such as DLS plate-based assays aseptic technique chromatography or tissue culture is an asset.
Must be resourceful flexible detail-oriented organized and with excellent communication skills.
Be able to work both as a team and independently with minimum supervision.
The annual salary range for this role is $40K-$50K CAD. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.
