As a Senior Manager you will have the opportunity to lead our driver safety program maintaining full adherence to DOT/FMCSA regulations. Your contributions will have a direct impact on the business by building a high-performing driver recruiting and retention pipeline. This role combines regulatory expertise with operational leadership owning safety performance compliance audits recruiting strategy and driver experience from first contact through onboarding and ongoing development.

- Driver Safety
- Own the company-wideDriver Safety Program: policies SOPs training audits and corrective actions.
- Monitor and improveCSA scoresacross BASICs; lead root-cause analyses of violations/incidents.
- Leadincident/accident investigationsdeterminepreventability and implement remedial training.
- Manageongoing safety training: HOS defensive driving load securement distracted driving winter driving etc.
- Smith System certified trainer
- Coordinate withInsurance & Claimson losses subrogation and cost containment strategies.
- DOT/FMCSA Compliance
- Ensure compliance with HOS ELD driver qualification files (DQFs) MVR checks Drug & Alcohol Clearinghouse medical certifications and Vehicle Maintenance.
- Overseepre-trip/post-trip inspectionsand maintenance documentation; collaborate with Fleet/Shop.
- Overseeinternal and external audits(FMCSA state customer) and CAPs (Corrective Action Plans).
- Maintain policies forhazmat (if applicable)load securement andoversize/overweight permitting.
- Maintainaccuraterecords and reporting:Accident Register training logs and compliance dashboards.
- Driver Recruiting & Retention
- Build and execute adata-driven recruiting strategyfor CDL-A company drivers.
- Oversee end-to-end recruiting funnel: sourcing screening PSP/MVR review offerspre-employment testing andonboarding.
- Optimizechannels (referrals job boards social local CDL schools veteran programs) with measurable ROI.
- Partner with Operations on driver pay home time equipment and job ads.
- Develop and trackdriver retention programs: mentorship recognition stay interviews and feedback loops.
- Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Lead teams (Driver Safety DOT Compliance & Driver Recruiting); set goals coach and develop talent.
- Collaborate with Dispatch Fleet Maintenance HR Legal and Finance to align safety compliance and hiring goals.
- Build executive-readydashboards and reportswith trend analysis and corrective action status.
- Working Conditions & Physical Requirements
- Travel to Domestic Branches customer sites and training events (30%).
- Ability toobservevehicle inspections driver safety practices and ride-a-longs.
- Involvement with Corporate EHS team.
To be successful in this role youll need:
- 710 years in transportation safety/compliance and driver recruiting; 35 years in leadership.
- Strong working knowledge of FMCSA/DOT regulations.
- Experience withELD/HOS platformsand safety/compliance systems (DQF Clearinghouse MVR PSP).
- Proventrack recordimprovingCSA scores audit outcomes and reducing incident rates.
- Demonstrated success building scalable recruiting pipelines andreducing cost per hireandtime-to-fill.
- Excellent communication skills; ability toinfluence acrossoperations and executive stakeholders.
Things we consider a plus:
- Experience indry van & flatbed fleets multi-state operations and customer audits.
- Familiarity withhazmatandoversize/overweight.
- Bachelors degree in business Supply Chain Safety Management or related field.
