Members of the Advisory Council are appointed by the ABC Board with the position commencing in early 2026.
The Advisory Council provides advice to the Board on ABC content and programs. The Board seeks to ensure that membership of the Council includes a broad representation of the Australian community and members are selected for their ability to access and represent a wide range of community views.
We welcome applications from people living in rural regional and remote areas of Queensland Victoria the ACT South Australia and Western Australia and young people aged 18 years and over are strongly encouraged to apply.
In line with the ABCs focus on diversity and inclusion applications are also encouraged from people with disabilities and LGBTIQA individuals.
The Advisory Council is currently scheduled to meet on the following dates in 2026:
Wednesday 20 May
Wednesday 5 August
Tuesday 27 October
