This position is an integral member of a team responsible for developing managing and maintaining lands owned by or associated with the Wyoming Game and Fish Commission. The position provides habitat expertise on state federal and private lands through coordination with various land managers to increase the quantity and quality of aquatic and terrestrial habitats. Work is conducted primarily on Wildlife Habitat Management Areas (WHMAs) and Public Access Areas (PAAs) within the Sheridan and Cody Regions.
The position is responsible for habitat data collection analysis and interpretation as well as the development implementation and funding of habitat enhancement projects. The position also develops and maintains effective working relationships with local state and federal agencies; private landowners; sportspersons; and non-governmental organizations (NGOs).
In addition this position is responsible for the Sheridan Regional Office maintenance needs. Duties may include irrigation system maintenance noxious weed treatment carpentry and minor electrical HVAC and plumbing work.

PREFERENCES/**AGENCY REQUIREMENTS:
Preference will be given to those with a bachelors degree in wildlife management range management ecology biology zoology agriculture or equivalent experience.
**Must have a valid drivers license and be able to obtain a Class A CDL with a current medical certificate within six months of hire. WGFD will pay for CDL licensure.
