WHATS THE OPPORTUNITIY

We have an exciting opportunity for two Registered Therapists to join our clinical team on a full time 18 month contractual basis! In this role youll be responsible for supporting individuals couples and families by delivering exceptional service to our clients regardless of their financial means. You will use your robust clinical training and expertise to deliver phenomenal counselling/psychotherapeutic services to both individuals and groups.

WHAT YOULL BE DOING:

  • Provide direct clinical service to individuals couples and families while ensuring all services are based on holistic practice and an integration of family focus wellness attachment theory resilience building methods and trauma-informed principles.
  • Deliver therapeutic interventions utilizing a variety of treatment modalities and presenting concerns (ex. Depression anxiety stress trauma relationships etc.)
  • Facilitate psycho-educational groups on a variety of topics (ex. Anxiety relationships intimate partner violence anger-management etc.)
  • Provide immediate support to clients in crisis including risk mitigation safety planning and connections to crisis services.
  • Offer a range of comprehensive assessments to understand the clients needs; assesses other factors that may be impacting the client (e.g. environment family situation resettlement).



WHAT WERE LOOKING FOR:

  • Masters degree in a counselling related field or Master of Social Work degree with appropriate registration with a regulatory college or body within Ontario.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment that requires balancing multiple demands and priorities.
  • Effective problem-solving abilities to deal with emotionally charged situations on a frequent basis.

ARE THERE BONUS POINTS

You bet! You are strongly encouraged to apply if you have any of the following:

  • Experience working in a community setting.
  • Experience providing family counselling.
  • Knowledge of domestic violence and trauma.
  • Training and/or certification in additional clinical modalities (eg CBT EMDR SFBT etc.)
  • Demonstrated understanding of attachment and trauma informed therapeutic interventions.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and experience working from an anti-oppressive practice approach.
  • Minimum 2 years relevant clinical experience (delivering counselling/psychotherapy crisis work family support) preferably with children youth and families.

ANYTHING ELSE I SHOULD KNOW:

  • This is a full-time (37.5 hours per week) contract position lasting approximately 18 months in duration.
  • This role involves evening shifts a minimum of 2 times per week until 8pm.
  • You will be providing 5 direct hours of client service (eg. group individual sessions) per day.
  • This is a fully in-person role.
  • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
  • Satisfactory Criminal and Vulnerable Sector Police check is required.
  • Must be able to provide either proof of vaccination or documentation providing a satisfactory reason under the Ontario Human Rights Code for not being vaccinated.
  • Wage: $32.39 to $45.73 per hour. This role is within the PRT (Registered Therapist Programs & Services) Job Grade.
