If you can name the media our music has been licensed for it. Our music can be found daily on platforms as diverse as Netflix YouTube TikTok Facebook Wondery and Spotify.
Founded in 1983 as a joint venture between Sony/ATV and Universal APM Music is the recognized leader in the production music industry with a catalog of over 900000 tracks in every imaginable genre. Our music elevates any content and brings a story to life.
APM Music is seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Associate to join our Finance team. This role will focus on accounts payable employee expenses credit cards cash application and bank reconciliations while supporting month-end close activities and maintaining accurate accounting records.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and post general ledger journal entries
- Record and apply cash receipts accurately in the financial system
- Process accounts payable invoices corporate credit card transactions and employee expense reimbursements
- Review and approve expense report coding for accuracy and compliance with company policy
- Update expense workbooks with monthly transactions
- Perform bank and aging reconciliations
- Assist with the preparation of monthly financial sub-schedules
- Support audits and respond to internal inquiries as needed
- Participate in ad hoc accounting projects and process improvements
Required Qualifications
- 13 years of relevant accounting experience
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent organizational analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to multi-task meet deadlines and work collaboratively in a team environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Excel
- High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Accounts Payable and/or Accounts Receivable
- Intermediate Excel skills (e.g. VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP pivot tables SUMIFS)
- Experience with NetSuite or similar ERP systems
- Accounting-related degree or certification
- Passion for the music and entertainment industry
