OVERVIEW
AtkinsRéalis is seeking a Process Engineering Intern to join our Isotek Project in Oak Ridge Tennessee office.
YOUR ROLE
- Assist in the development of Engineering Drawings and Documents
- Assist in Equipment Operational Testing
- Assist in development of Engineering Modifications
- Learn/Develop a working knowledge of Commercial Grade Dedication (CGD) and assist in development of CGD plans and CGD test reports
- Assist in development of Electronic Purchase Requests and oversee the technical project management of fabrication contracts
- Participate in Hazard Review Team (HRT) meetings during development of work packages
- Support the exposure to radiation As Low As Reasonably Achievably (ALARA) Program during development of equipment designs
- Assist with reviews of Work Packages procedures and other documents to ensure compliance with Engineering requirements
- Support job walkdowns as needed
- Under supervision of the Engineering Manager prepare review and revise Engineering Procedures
ABOUT YOU
- EXPERIENCE: Acceptance into a Bachelors degree program in mechanical or chemical engineering or similar field
- EDUCATION: Must have completed a minimum of 24 hours toward a degree from an ABET accredited program by start of internship (Summer 2026)
- SPECIAL SKILLS:
- Math skills to perform calculations; willingness to learn
- Basic computer skills required to enter data into spreadsheets or databases
- Strong technical writing experience
- PROFESSIONAL REGISTRATIONS: none
- OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Must be a US citizen and able to obtain a DOE L Security Clearance and must have Real ID compliant identification to access the work location.

ABOUT ATKINSRÉALIS
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Expected compensation range is between $25 - $31 hourly depending on skills experience and geographical location.
