This role seeks to expand our in-house sustainable and impact finance capability to support the growth of the global IFN programme via partnerships while supporting the existing team to align the IFN to the business priorities. This role is based in South Africa and will have a strong focus on our South African footprint and partnerships.
Key responsibilities:
Reporting into the Sustainable and Impact Finance Manager this role will lead the oversight of the Kumba Iron Ore (KIO) and FCDO partnerships in Southern Africa while being responsible for building and scaling the IFNs global partnership ecosystem focusing on South and Southern Africa developing high-impact relationships with aligned partners including corporates DFIs NGOs and addition this role will contribute towards the development of innovative financing mechanisms for achieving our sustainability targets.
This role will:
- Support the management of the IFN programme in our African markets with a focus on South Africa ensuring integration with the programmes in Latin America
- Work collaboratively with the IFN delivery partners in Southern Africa and Impact Finance Facility in South Africa
- Drive business value for KIO ensuring the IFN work contributes towards their livelihoods and sustainability strategy while identifying broader innovative funding opportunities to support business needs and priorities
- Support existing partnerships ensuring on-going quality of delivery of the IFN and relationship management with our partners specifically the FCDO in South Africa
- Support network event branding and marketing activities to raise the profile of the IFN in South and Southern Africa in collaboration with the AASA corporate and KIO teams
- Establish clear partnership models that drive growth market access and solution innovation aligned to Business priorities; map the partner ecosystem and identify key players that align with Anglo American and the IFNs mission
- Manage relevant stakeholder relationships across the Business with a priority for our South African corporate office and Kumba Iron Ore sites ensuring the IFN activities have robust sponsorship and alignment with our operations
- Develop and integrate a global project management and reporting framework for the IFN programmes across the full Anglo American portfolio to ensure a strong platform for partnership; support the enhancement of the M&E approach for livelihoods
- Explore models of how the IFN can be used to provide solutions for the Businesses via open innovation
- Explore models and innovative funding mechanisms to support the implementation of the sustainability strategy (beyond livelihoods) providing support to relevant cross-functional collaboration
This role needs to demonstrate exceptional stakeholder management and collaboration skills and be a self-starter who can build and nurture ecosystem relationships across multiple industries and sectors. A knowledge and passion for sustainable and impact finance will be required along with being comfortable working in fast-paced projects.

Qualifications :
- Graduate in a relevant discipline e.g. international development finance economics engineering
EXPERIENCE
- 7 years of relevant experience
- Project Management
- Partnership development and management
- Impact investment and Sustainable Finance tools / instruments
- Innovative finance and/or Impact investment landscape particularly in Africa (Southern Africa specifically)
- Business and strategy development
- Working in partnerships with governments corporates academia or civil society organisations at a national or local level
