DescriptionIn accordance with the Vision Purpose and Values and strategic direction of the Vancouver Island Health Authority ( Island Health) patient and staff safety is a priority and a responsibility shared by everyone; as such the requirement to continuously improve quality and safety is inherent in all aspects of this position.
Reporting to the Manager provides professional direction to Physiotherapy in a family-centered community collaborative manner on behalf of Child and Family Rehabilitation Services (CFRS) and Mental Health (MHS) programs. Responsible through the Manager for standards of the Physiotherapy profession as outline in the senior role addition carries out responsibilities as a Staff Therapist as outlined.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education Training And Experience
Graduation from a recognized university program in Physiotherapy. Current licensure in a practicing category with the College of Health and Care Professionals of BC as a Physiotherapist. Eligible for membership in the Canadian Physiotherapy Association (CPA). Three (3) to five (5) years experience in a pediatric clinical setting. Postgraduate courses. Valid BC Drivers License.
Skills And Abilities
- Demonstrated knowledge of and current P.T. skills in pediatric rehabilitation (physical disability).
- Demonstrated current knowledge of P.T. intervention with clients with mental health concerns.
- Demonstrated abilities in administration.
- Participation in research.
- Ability to foster professional multidisciplinary teamwork.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills both with professionals and families.
- Demonstrated problem-solving and goal-setting skills.
- Ability to organize and lead group meetings.
- Demonstrated supervisory and time management skills.
- Demonstrated knowledge of ongoing standards of practice/quality of care.
- Physical and emotional ability to perform the duties required of this position.
