What youll do
As the Financial Controller you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day financial processes including budgeting forecasting reporting and financial analysis. You will work closely with senior management to provide critical financial insights that support decision-making and drive profitability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all financial activities and operations of the hotel including budgeting forecasting and financial reporting.
- Implement and maintain effective internal controls and financial policies.
- Drive cost control initiatives and revenue management strategies to improve profitability.
- Review and finalise monthly quarterly and annual financial statements ensuring accurate and timely delivery.
- Lead the preparation of annual budgets cash flow management and variance analysis.
- Monitor and review the hotels financial performance ensuring targets and KPIs are met.
- Prepare reports and presentations for senior management providing insights into financial trends risks and opportunities.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and tax obligations.
- Manage the hotel finance team providing leadership training and performance reviews.
- Liaise with external auditors banks and financial institutions.
Key Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Financial Controller Finance Manager or similar role preferably within the hospitality industry.
- Strong knowledge of hotel financial operations accounting principles and financial reporting standards. Strong understanding of USALI is desirable.
- Experience in budgeting financial forecasting and variance analysis.
- Excellent proficiency in hotel based software (experience with Opera & Journey is an advantage).
- Excellent proficiency in accounting/financial software (experience with Sage is an advantage).
- Strong analytical organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in maintaining and implementing internal financial controls.
- Attention to detail with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Leadership experience with the ability to manage and motivate a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with both financial and non-financial stakeholders
- Strong knowledge and proficiency in Microsoft programs (Excel PowerPoint Word Outlook etc)
- Professional qualifications (e.g. ACA ACCA CIMA) are highly desirable.
